The Uniting Church believes in the power of &.
The Uniting People campaign seeks to promote the power of & and encourage you & me & us & them to work together to make a positive difference in our community.
The campaign launched on December 14 2009 and draws on the wisdom of people who work at a grassroots level in the Uniting Church – including Lifeline volunteers, chaplains and welfare workers.
Our campaign includes banners, radio and press advertising which all point to a collection of practical resources on our website.
In October 2011, Uniting People hosted a free Family Fun Day in Modbury. Over 800 people spent a sunny afternoon trying out some of the ideas listed in the 100 ways to spend quality time with your kids booklet, and taking a copy home for themselves.
During December/January, we're focussing on the issue of loneliness again, after the 2011 Indicators Survey by Relationships Australia showed that Gen Y is the loneliest generation.
Television ads will appear on Channel Ten (metro) from Sunday 11 December until 7 January, 2012.
Win TV and Southern Cross will air the ad during the week before Christmas.
Radio advertising will take place on Nova 91.9 FM from Monday 12 December - 1 January, 2012.
Print advertising, through The Advertiser, will appear on 15, 16, 18, 21 - 23 December.
